Online Meeting of BSEC Committee of Senior Officials

The first meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) under the Romanian BSEC Chairmanship was held online on 17 June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the single item on its agenda - the rotation of the Chairmanship-in-Office - The Committee took note of the announcements by Albania, Georgia and Moldova to assume the Secretariat-Assisted Chairmanship of the BSEC Organization in the first half of 2021, the second half of 2021 and the first half of 2022, respectively, as well as by the Romanian Chairmanship-in-Office to accept the technical extension of its mandate until the end of 2020. Armenia's Delegation welcomed these decisions of Albania, Georgia and Moldova and appreciated the flexibility of the Romania to accept the technical extension of its mandate of the current Chairmanship-in-Office. The Member States also exchanged views and agreed on the proposal to organize at the earliest possible convenience another extraordinary online meeting of the CSO in order to conclude the designation of the rotation of the Chairmanship-in-Office beyond the first semester of 2022 to complete the current Chairmanship rotation cycle.
