The Permanent Mission of Armenia to BSEC is housed in the historical building belonging to the Foundation of Saint Jacob Armenian Catholic Hospital. Founded by Harutyun and Anna Chamchian in 1906 this five-story building was designed by Italian architect Edoardo De Nari featuring new urban typology with high ceilings, tall windows and large porticoes.

The building is located in the Elmadağ neighborhood of Şişli district of Istanbul near the Taksim Square, which is considered the heart of modern Istanbul and a major tourist and leisure area famed for its restaurants, shops, and hotels. The district is also home of educational and cultural institutions and a number of countries operate consular offices in the area.

The Permanent Mission’s story has seen major refurbishments and advancements with the contributions of the local Armenian community (building photos are below).
